Everything Happens (For A Reason)

Over time, I continue to realize more & more how decisions I've made in the past is why I'm where I'm at now. I've learned from missed opportunities & bad judgment that should have been assessed better. Through this path, it's also taught me how to appreciate & learn from my mistakes. I say appreciate because maybe if I didn't make those mistakes & learn from them, I would be continuing this vicious cycle of mistakage.

My Grandparents used to tell don't take any wouldn't nickels. Pretty much they saying be wise with the decisions make & actions I take. Sometimes I listened & sometimes I didn't. It's like when you would have crush on that special someone but that special someone had been around the block a time or two. Family & friends try to tell you about the person's resume (whore monger) but you do it anyway & get burnt (that could go figuratively or literally). If you've got a head on your shoulders, you learn from that issue & make better choices the next time. Or keep bumping your head until you get the picture.

And then, some things happen where we have totally zero control of the outcome. Blame on fate, stars, or just the way of the world. But I think it's how we order our steps during & after every experience & trial that comes our way.

Now that I'm older well seasoned & wiser (self proclaimed), I developed the motto, "If you aim to take wise steps, you won't stump your toe". But all in all, everything happens for a reason. Now that I've said that, I think I'll which Trading Places (message).

Be smart & stay thirsty my friends.......... Know the ledge......

Thankful

Hello Blogland...

You know we get caught up in the hustle & bustle & rigors of life. We complain about where we are & what we don't have have. First let me say that I'm not going to make this preachy & long winded. I just want to say that what's going on in our lives could be a whole lot worse than what's going on for other folk.

Some folk woke up this morning homeless. Some folk woke up with no money in the bank. Some people that went to sleep last night didn't get a chance to wake this morning & take another breath. Some folk woke haters this morning & don't have a cure for "B@tch#ssness".

Be grateful for the things God has blessed you to have & appreciate the simple things in life. Because taking care of the simple things prepare you for what's next to come.  With that being said, I'm thankful for God, Jesus, my Wife, my Grandparents, my Mom, all of my friends, Hollywood Shuffle, Adidas, pomegranates, & dope beats. Don't ask me where this came from. Just some tings on me mind.

Be Thankful

Hello Blogland!!!

Hello Blogland.

For those not in the know, my name is D. Rose hailing from Houston TX. For over 10+ years, I've been involved in the hip hop scene in Houston as an artist/fan & have worked with some heavy hitters & skilled emcees on the rise. In the past year alone, I've been flying back & forth from Houston to ATL, LA, & NYC to increase the progression of my "bizzyness".

Along this journey I've met & worked with some cool as hell cats (some you might know or heard of. I've had the pleasure of working/networking with Tray Chaney (HBO series The Wire), Affion Crockett (MTV's Wild-n-Out), Chip Fu, YZ, & Ali Shaheed Muhammad to name a few. The road to success is not an easy ride journey & is not for the weak at heart.

I've learned that you get a lot of empty promises & a lack of follow through from folk that say they have your back. The best thing I've learned while walking this path is to things on your own & learn from trial & error. I've had many setbacks in pursuit of getting into the world of music & entertainment but more I grind, shake hands, & kiss babies, feel like the closer & closer I'm getting to my goal.

I currently am working on a project titled "The Daily Journal". If you have never heard of me or my music, I've provided links below for to get familiar. Also, go cop my new single featuring Tray Chaney titled "Life On Film" (link down bottom). This is the first of many blogs to come. Check out the music & let me know what's good. Oh, shout out to my brother, John O. Nelson, for having his short film "Hood Tales" being shown at The Sundance Film Festival. Salut. Time to "DO BIG THINGS"!!! Humbly, of course.

Peace & blessings
